The vinyl edition contains over 80 minutes of songs and stories. This is the most limited pressing of any vinyl I've ever done. When these are gone, they are completely gone. There are less of them than you'd think. The vinyl edition also comes with TWO extra songs that will not be available on any other format.

about

I like playing in small venues. You can make eye contact with everyone in the building (including the introverts hiding in the shadows), and, most times, you can hear everything. And I do mean everything. The high-pitched frequencies from the cobbled-together PA, the sounds of the cappuccino machines whirring during the quietest songs, and the attendees that are determined to sing along with every single song. Small venues make it easier for every aspect of the evening to truly become "part of the show."

This live album is meant to serve as a document, a mean average of more than a decade of returning to small places to sing songs and tell stories. When the mood is right, these types of shows can be transcendent, with the entire room eventually performing together as one to create the experience.

I've attempted to capture this type of document before, but something has always gone awry. Sleeping Moon Cafe seemed like the kind of place where it could finally happen. It's more or less set up like a very large living room, resplendent with couches, typewriters, easels at which artists may work while the performance takes place, and, ultimately, the type of vibe that even the shyest individual can use to take part in an interactive performance.

It's my intention that this record will serve as a souvenir and a thank-you to the folks that have enjoyed my shows in these types of venues before, supporting my constant return to them over the years. These shows wouldn't have been the same without you. Truth be told, they'd have been the loneliest sing-alongs of all time, and those coffee machines would have entertained no one with their whirring.

Love on ya,
Marc With a C
